People’s champ Manny Pacquiao is set to run for Mayoralty at General Santos or for Congress in South Cotobato this coming 2007 local elections. He said, “It’s my decision and noone can stop menow not even my mom”. Manny Pacquaio’s mom Dionisia Pacquiao, says she plans to leave General Santos for Leyte if he decides to continue to run for local office.

“I’m already decided and ready” - Manny Pacquiao says. Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos did found a reason to believe he’s not qualified to run for General Santos/ South Cotabato local office.

His voter’s ID originally from General Santos at Baranggay Labangal then he transfered to Saranggani Province and then only last year at the City of Manila.
December 19, 2006, Manny Pacquiao decided to transfer his residency and registration at the City of Manila incase he’d run for Vice-Mayoralty along with Ali Atienza. Law says, he needs 1 year of residency to qualify to run for public office.
