Da Vinci Code Movie to be banned in the Philippines? I haven’t even seen teh Da Vinci Code trailer yet nor read Dan Brown’s book (poor me). Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita on Wednesday said he is against the showing of the movie ‘The Da Vinci Code’.
He said the movie is “blasphemous” if shown in a Catholic country like the Philippines. Ermita clarified that his statement is personal and not the official stand of the Philippine government or President Arroyo.
It’s hard to come up with the idea that it should be banned primarily because Philippines is highly regarded to be a Catholic country.
Da Vinci Code movie may teach us some lessons we never learned from our Theology Class. May it be a Hoax or not, the quest in looking for the truth or secrets behind the Da Vinci code (kung meron nga) may in fact, be taken away from us.
