Pinoy Idols are soon to conquer the kapuso fans after Geraldine Bravo Director for Sales and Marketing for the franchise says it’s official, Philippine Idol is now a Kapuso.
ABC5 officials say they’re still waiting for Fremantle’s decision.
Pinoy Dream Academy is on verge of loosing its share of audience as the Philippine Idol on GMA7 is scheduled to air on February 2008, a month after Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2’s grand launch night (January. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Daming pinakakawalang palabas ang ABS-CBN kaya laging number 2 sa ratings. Wake-up ABS-CBN, “masa” teleshows rocks the Pinoy television share!
Just like this commercial:
Oh, well… a lot of potentially great shows upcoming for GMA7 Like Marky Cielo, Aljur Abrenica and Dennis Trillo’s Zaido (Shaider Pulis pangkalawakan) on Sept 24, 2007. And… (teka bitin ko muna tanong ko pa sa mga sources sa siete kung tuloy nga) Unlike Kokey… Margarita and such… makes you wanna wee-wee your pants.

ABC 5, Philippine Idol channel was reportedly terminated the services of 50 of its employees due to cost-cutting reasons. Most of the employees affected were part of news and current affairs. Tony Boy Conjuanco owner of the said channel, is planning to sell the station and have had talks with two interested investors.
Philippine Idol might have to look for a new TV Station to continue its show. With ABC 5’s unstable situation, scope and limitations of its budget + viewer’s reach, you can’t expect Philippine Idol to flourish like its international counterparts.

While on our “Christmas Party” I did managed to watch “PDA’s” last expulsion night. I shouldn’t have bothered watching it. Chad, Irish, Panky, Yeng, Ronnie, and Jay-R named to the Headmaster’s Honor List of Six. While Yvan Lambatan & Rosita Bareng was left with (more…)

I’d like to post this interesting comment by Alex on Nothing Special on Philippine Idol
I have been a follower of American Idol and Philippine Idol. I don’t want to be really hard-hitting but I am terribly DISAPPOINTED with the handling of local franchise for several reasons:
1. RYAN AGONCILLO is a poor choice for host. Cute face? Yes. Good emcee? Forget it. He was reading spiels without understanding what is going on. Lots of booboos. C’mon, KC Montero could have done this better even without reading scripts.
2. THE DIZZYING TV SCHEDULE CHANGES. Very annoying. Will the show start at 8pm? 830pm? 9pm? 930pm? Or has it started early at 730pm and nobody nows except the people at SM Megamall? And then they are moving the main show again on Sundays and results night to Mondays, from the original Saturday performance night and Sunday results night. Parang merry-go-round ang schedule.
3.HEART EVANGELISTA. Is she really needed? Wala namang ganito sa American Idol. Female co-host on a different time slot? I find this weird.
4. VANISHING ABC5 TV SIGNAL. Go southward and only GMA-7 is available on your ordinary TV antenna. Very annoying. If you have cable or satellite TV, maybe. But millions of regular pinoys don’t have cable or satellite TV, especially in the rural areas. So are you going to expect people fom far flung areas to vote?
@alex - I agree, sobra nakakadisappoint. They could’ve should have planned it well, they’ve risked it too far-off the scale. Wow Mali is totally different from an Idol franchise, kaya hindi sana sila umasa na biglang papatok sa tsamba ang P.I. I believe that Philippine Idol could make it to the top… with proper planning, preparation & follow through (whatever that means, hehe)
as for your list:
1. Iisa facial expression. He can be a good poker player though… lolz
2. It happens when they try to avoid clashing with the big boy’s network.
3. That’s how pinoy producers look at it, pampalubag kumbaga. “Let’s put in a big star para makahatak ng ratings.”
4. Uberly good point
Thanks Alex!
